SALT LAKE CITY—The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) announced the membership of PerkinElmer Inc. as its newest Science & Technology Services member.

Headquartered in Waltham, Massachusetts, PerkinElmer provides its customers with detection, imaging, informatics and service capabilities that provide meaningful insights and information related to the environment. Its detection instruments and solutions help scientists, clinicians and governments analyze air, water and food products to reduce the risk of contaminants and determine potential environmental threats. The company reported 2013 revenues of USD $2.2 billion, employs about 7,600 people and operates in more than 150 countries.

“PerkinElmer is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of analytical instruments and detection solutions, and its products can be found in the quality assurance labs of almost all of the leading dietary supplement companies around the world," UNPA president Loren Israelsen said. “UNPA supports the company’s robust educational programs, and believes that PerkinElmer’s membership will greatly expand the detection and testing resources available to our members and to the industry."

This membership comes a week after Natural partners joined UNPA as its newest executive member and two weeks after UNPA announced the founding 10 associate members.
