OCIA Verifies Certification System

LINCOLN, Neb.--OCIA International recently re-examined andverified the effectiveness of its transaction certificate (TC) system to ensureorganic integrity of OCIA-certified products. The system includes producersproviding inventory reports to OCIA, and OCIA tracking the product with aproducer's number.

"Through its TC system, OCIA can not only verify the origin of acertified organic product, but also provide a list of each stop that the productmade on its journey to the final consumer," said Sam Welsch, OCIA's (www.ocia.org)executive director. "The system is designed to create minimal delay whileproviding maximum assurance."
