NSF also provided status updates on its other certification efforts.

NSF was contracted by GNC to certify all GNC products as part of GNCs quality program, and has certified more than 490 GNC products to date.

GNC will launch an advertising campaign in the fall about the benefits and processes of the NSF certification program and what it means to consumers.

This spring, NSF announced the NFL/NFLPA Supplement Certification Program, developed at the request of the National Football League (NFL) and Players Association. NSF developed criteria for product certification and will certify products against NSF/ANSI Standard 173 plus lot by lot testing against the NFL/NFLPA Prohibited Substance List. The first company to go through the NFL/NFLPA program was Experimental Applied Science (EAS), which has 17 product lots that have completed the certification process.
