The Level 2 SQF Certification is a comprehensive certification that assures retailers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible quality standards at all levels of the supply chain.

We began the SQF Certification process 18 months ago with the development of additional employee training programs and new plant procedures, adding a third layer of checks and balances to our already-comprehensive quality programs," said Scott Halverson, senior quality manager at Denali Ingredients. We prepared like you would for the ultimate college exam, and Im proud to say we graded at nearly 99 percent."

SQF is the only certification system recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) that links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification. While SQF was designed primarily as a food safety program, it also covers product qualitya feature that is unique to a certification program of this type.

The food manufacturing industry has experienced a couple of high-profile safety recalls recently, so we expect more retailers will require SQF certification in the future," said Neal Glaeser, president of Denali Ingredients. Our team has always had an incredibly high level of commitment to food safety and this new certification just reinforces that fact."

An independent food safety auditor spent more than more than 80 hours combined inspecting every aspect of both Denali Ingredients facilities before recommending both for SQF certification.
