AOAC Issues Call for Methods

GAITHERSBURG, Md.AOACInternational, under contract with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) andNational Institutes of Health (NIH), is working to develop a group of fullyvalidated methods, validated through the AOACs OfficialMethods^SM Program. AOAC is now looking for analyticalmethods for the following ingredients in dietary supplements, applicable to theraw material as well as the processed product: coenzyme Q10, Echinacea, garlic,eleuthero, kava kava, yohimbe and cranberry.

Interested parties can submit the reference, paper orelectronic copy of the method, as well as any available validation data, toAOAC; expert review panels and AOAC staff will use Single LaboratoryValidation Acceptance Criteria as a guide to the suitability of the methodfor further full collaborative study.
