ADM Closes Plant
HELENA, Ark.--Archer Daniels Midland Co. (ADM) announced on May 16 that it will beclosing its soybean crushing plant here. However, the adjacent elevator will continue tooperate. Approximately half of the site's 75 employees were laid off. According to ADM,this action was necessary because of a limited demand for its part in the soybean crushingindustry.
