DMV Granted FOSHU Status

FRASER, N.Y.--DMV International Nutritionals' Peptide D4, an ingredient inHankyu of Japan Ltd.'s Napple beverage, was granted Food for Specified HealthUse (FOSHU) status in Japan. According to DMV, the bioactive peptide has beenclinically proven to increase lean body mass, lower serum triglycerides andinhibit fat digestion and absorption.

The inclusion of Peptide D4 in the drink helped increase sales to more than1,000,000 bottles in 1999. Not a small feat considering the high levels ofcompetition in the Japanese functional drink market.

"We are very pleased to be part of Hankyu's success," said DonCombs, president of DMV. "We continue to look for innovative partners andgrowth segments in the bioactive peptide market."
