Odwalla, Fresh Samantha Merge

HALF MOON BAY, Calif.--Odwalla Inc. and Fresh Samantha Inc., which both specialize in fresh, super-premium juices, have agreed to merge. The merger will strengthen Odwalla's position in the market by bringing Fresh Samantha under its corporate umbrella.

The deal is expected to close in late April, subject to shareholder approval and other closing conditions. In addition, Doug Levin, the chief executive officer of Fresh Samantha and one of its founders, will become president of Odwalla Inc. after the merger is completed.
