Pilot Therapeutics Relocates Manufacturing, HQ

ORANGEBURG, S.C.--Pilot Therapeutics Inc., awholly owned subsidiary of Pilot Therapeutics Holdings Inc., announced plans torelocate its production and manufacturing facility in the Orangeburg City/CountyIndustrial Park area. Construction on the $8 million facility was expected tobegin sometime in late October or early November, and will take an estimated twoyears to complete. The manufacturing facility is expected to create 80 jobswithin five years for the processing of borage and other specialty crops used inthe company's medical food and pharmaceutical products. In addition, Pilotexpects to contract South Carolina farmers to grow one-third of its worldwideborage supply. Potentially, in a five-year period, 400 farmers may be needed touse up to 30,000 acres of land if market penetration goals for PilotTherapeutics' products are realized, according to the company (www.pilotp.com).

In related news, Pilot Therapeutics also announced plans torelocate its headquarters and R&D facility to Charleston. The $2 millionproject is expected to create about 100 new jobs in the area. The company plansto temporarily locate to Daniel Island until the permanent facility isestablished so it can operate without interruption.
