Eric and Ryan Jensen, owners of Colorado-based Jensen farms, pled guilty to criminal charges brought on by the deadly 2011 Listeria outbreak from tainted cantaloupes, which resulted in 33 deaths and 147 reported illnesses in 28 states. The brothers now await their sentencing hearing scheduled for Jan. 28, 2014, facing up to 6 years in prison. Due to broad sentencing discretion, the judge could spare the Jensens of jail time, imposing probation instead.
