Inter-Cal Files New Patenton Ester-C for Cancer Treatment

PHOENIX--Inter-Cal Nutraceuticals applied for an international patent covering the use of its Ester-C^® product to treat cancer. The application followed completion of pre-clinical research indicating that Ester-C selectively kills a variety of cancer cell types.

"While we are excited about the potential cancer treatment value of our product, significantly more research is required before any health claims can be made," said Michelle Michels, vice president and general manager of Inter-Cal. "More laboratory work, plus in vivo testing, has to be performed. The company is exploring potential partnerships with other, more cancer-directed companies to finance further drug development efforts."
