Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op Celebrates 5th Anniversary

NAPLES, Fla.--Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op of Florida Inc. is celebrating its fifth year in business and has started its third construction expansion. The company plans to add an additional 5,000 square feet to its existing 17,000-square-foot processing facility. According to Greg Zaino, chief executive officer, the expansion will enhance production capacity to more than 650,000 lbs. per week.

Saw Palmetto Berries Co-op currently offers its trademarked Premium CO2 Liquid Extract, spray dried 25-45% powders as well as Premium SoftGels. Sized berries, toll grinding, organic dried berries and alcohol extracts are available for contract requests. The company uses a proprietary supercritical carbon dioxide liquid process to conduct extraction with no harmful solvents such as hexane or alcohol. It conducts both gas chromatography and HPLC independent testing on all products, which exceeds USP requirements.
