CFSAN Releases Supplement Labeling Guidance
COLLEGE PARK, Md.The Centerfor Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN) of the Food and DrugAdministration (FDA) released A Dietary Supplement Labeling Guide, whichoutlines the agencys current thinking on the subject. The guidance forindustry (www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/dslg-toc.html) is neither binding nor legallyenforceable and is provided as a source of FDA recommendations and answers tocommon labeling questions. The guidance covers nutrition labeling, ingredientlabeling, claims and pre-market notification of new dietary ingredients (NDIs),as well as specific information concerning daily values, flavors, preservatives,serving sizes and micronutrients.
