In this podcast, Sandra Eskin of The Pew Charitable Trusts describes her support for a mandatory product listing for dietary supplements.

Sandra Eskin is project director of food safety with The Pew Charitable Trusts, an independent nonprofit organization in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.

In this May 23, 2019 podcast interview with INSIDER's legal and regulatory editor, Josh Long, Eskin discusses:

  • her support for a mandatory product listing for dietary supplement products;
  • marshaling support in Congress for such a requirement;
  • the effectiveness of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA); and
  • the need to reinvigorate the notification process in the law to demonstrate the safety of new dietary ingredients.
