Solbar Reaffirms Quality Commitment

ASHDOD, Israel—In the wake of global quality control questions about the production of raw materials in China, Solbar Industries Ltd. issued a statement reiterating its commitment to producing unadulterated specialty soy protein products retaining whole ownership and management of its production facility in Ningbo, China, Solbar Ningbo Food Co. Inc. Ltd. The company recently completed its annual audit of the facility, and is doing additional raw material testing to guarantee no outside contamination.

Shaul Shelach, CEO, Solbar, said: “In light of the latest melamine crisis in China we feel a responsibility to reassure our loyal customers inside and outside China that the Solbar quality assurance continues to be of utmost importance to our company. Since Solbar Ningbo was established in 2005, the company is managed by Mr. Yossi Gohary, who holds years of experience managing food activities in China and Israel.”

Solbar’s Ningbo, China, facility and its manufacturing plant in Ashdod, Israel, are certified ISO 9001:2000, HACCP (hazard analysis critical control points), kosher and halal. The company is the third-largest processor of specialty soy proteins in the world.
