Agilex Flavors & Fragrances Launched as Newest Industry Brand

UPPER SADDLE RIVER, NJCarlo W. Colesanti, chairman, CEO and president, FFG (Flavor and Fragrance Group) Industries, Inc., has announced the launch of Agilex Flavors & Fragrances Inc., a new flavor and fragrance company with a wide range of resources that has been formed through the integration of FFG and six of its operating companies.

Agilex Flavors & Fragrances now combines the capabilities of AromaTech, Somerville, NJ; International Fragrance & Technology, Canton, GA; Technology Flavors & Fragrances, Amityville, NY; Key Essentials, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA; FlavorSource, Anaheim, CA; and Western Flavors & Fragrances, Livermore, CA.

These companies were brought together to form a new kind of flavor and fragrance company with a focus on both the growing middle-market and select multinationals. Each company was acquired because they possessed proprietary and specialty technologies and a diverse customer base that combines outstanding service capabilities and a vibrant entrepreneurial spirit.

Colesanti explained that the Agilex Flavors and Fragrances logo communicates the companys point of competitive differentiation as well as the value proposition it offers to its customers: Our signature line, Agility. Passion. Excellence. reflects our willingness to be flexible and to anticipate and respond to an ever changing industry, business and regulatory environment, while simultaneously providing excellent flavor and fragrance products and related services.

In making the announcement, Colesanti stated: Agilex already has a significant industry presence and is seeking to further its position as a leading player and important brand of flavors and fragrances that is clearly recognized by our ability to offer exceptional products, agile and responsive service, a strong entrepreneurial environment and the passion to serve our customers better. As the leader of the new Agilex team, Colesantis background comes from more than 25 years of experience in both the domestic and international arenas. He has a record of success in building businesses and creating shareholder value in both the flavor and fragrance and food ingredient industries.

Richard Green, Jr., Agilexs senior vice president and CFO, brings over 25 years of industry experience in the global functional food ingredient and specialty chemical industries to Agilex and has led the growth and integration of multinational businesses in all aspects of operational and financial affairs. They are joined on the senior management team by industry veterans Thomas Damiano, president, Flavor Division; Deepak Shah, senior vice president, Business Development; and Stuart Zlotnik, president, Fragrance Division.

Strategically acquired resources give Agilex a strong critical mass of flavor and fragrance resources, substantially enriched by the synergy of the acquired companies.

In terms of flavor capabilities, Agilex is a concept to completion supplier, providing the full complement of services that is required to launch new food and beverage products to market. A portfolio of niche technologies is offered for customers of every size, supporting their in-house or outsourced product development efforts.
