Idaho Milk Products Achieves SQF 2000 Level 3 Certification

JEROME, IdahoIdaho Milk Products, Inc., earned  Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 3 certification, the highest level of certification possible within the SQF Program, during its recent three-day audit by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

The evaluation reviewed the dairy ingredient producer on management commitment, document and record control, specification and product development, dedication to food safety and food quality, internal auditing procedures, product recall and traceability, site security, building and equipment design and construction and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The SQF 2000 Code Level 3 outlines the general food safety and quality management system requirements applied by a supplier involved in the manufacture, processing, transport, storage, distribution and supply of raw materials and ingredients, food products and processed or prepared foods and beverages or supplying contract services related to food manufacturing, processing or distribution activities.

SQF is recognized by retailers and foodservice providers around the world who require their supplier to complete a rigorous, credible food safety management system. The SQF Program is recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and links primary production certification to food manufacturing, distribution and agent/broker management certification.
