Cardinal Nutritions CEO Passes Away

VANCOUVER, Wash.George E. Bergstrom III, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Cardinal Nutrition, died Aug. 9 at Southwest Washington Medical Center from vascular lymphoma. Bergstrom, who co-founded Cardinal Nutrition in 1988, was 63.

The industry has truly lost a quiet giant, said Michael D. Levin, Cardinals president and chief operating officer. George was an unassuming man, wholly committed to applying advanced science to improve the publics health. His legacy lives on in the corporate values our employees embrace, in the MSM research he supported, in the charitable programs he initiated and in the hearts of all those who knew him.

Cardinal is the supplier of OptiMSM methylsulfonymethane (MSM), which is manufactured in the United States. The company named Roma Bergstrom, Georges widow, as its new CEO. She will also serve as chairwoman of the companys board of directors.
