SupplySide East, the East Coast’s leading ingredient and solutions trade show, showcased the happenings making waves in the natural product industry, including transparency, the expansion of “-biotics” and plant-based nutrition. In this podcast, Informa editors Heather Granato, vice president of content; Steve Myers, senior editor; and Sandy Almendarez, editor in chief, discuss trends on display at SupplySide East 2019. They cover:

  • The buzz and confusion around hemp-based CBD, and how companies are reacting to the evolving market.

  • Consumers’ “quest for rest” by using adaptogens, probiotics and products made with fermentation processes.

  • Appealing supplement delivery options, such as gummies and stick packs, and how brands must balance taste with reduced sugar with these formats.

This podcast was recorded immediately following SupplySide East by Informa Markets, which was held at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, New Jersey, April 9 and 10, 2019.
