Finland Imposes Caffeine Warnings

HELSINKI, FinlandFinlandsNational Food Agency is adding warning labels on caffeine-containing beveragesif the caffeine content is more than 150 mg/L, regardless of its source. The newlabeling does not apply to beverages based on coffee or tea, or to beveragesmade of coffee or tea extracts, which carry the word coffee or teain their name. Warnings include not recommended for children, pregnant womenor persons with caffeine sensitivity and not recommended for consumption with alcoholicbeverages.

This regulation also applies to imports, such as Red Bull andother energy-boosting drinks.
