The Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 (DSHEA) put into place the regulations that govern dietary supplements, including good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and requirements around structure/function claims. The onus to ensure products meet regulatory requirements often falls on brand owners, but that doesn’t mean DHSEA doesn’t impact other parts of the supply chain.
