Odwalla, Fresh Samantha Merge

HALF MOON BAY, Calif.--Odwalla Inc. and Fresh Samantha Inc., which bothspecialize in fresh, super-premium juices, have agreed to merge. The merger willstrengthen Odwalla's position in the market by bringing Fresh Samantha under itscorporate umbrella.

The deal is expected to close in late April, subject to shareholder approvaland other closing conditions. In addition, Doug Levin, the chief executiveofficer of Fresh Samantha and one of its founders, will become president ofOdwalla Inc. after the merger is completed.
