NEW YORKKit Kat took the title of "most influential candy bar of all time," according to Time magazine's list of chocolate bars with the greatest impact on the industry.

Time magazine published its list of the top 13 candy bars by interviewing candy experts and historians on which bars had the greatest influence on the chocolate-bar industry and the world. Kit Kat beat out the classic Hershey's Milk Chocolate bar, the Nestle Milk Chocolate bar and the Snickers bar.

Time magazine called Kit Kat the first bar marketed as a "social snack," as well as the first global obsession. Kit Kat has recently spiced up its flavor selection with its new wasabi, edamame and sweet potato-flavored bars.
