Merck, Clover Reach Omega-3 Agreement
DARMSTADT, Germany--Merck, a German pharmaceutical company, and Clover Corp., an Australia-based omega-3 specialist, have partnered to sign an exclusive worldwide marketing and distribution agreement for Clover's line of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs).
The agreement gives Clover worldwide access to the functional foods market through Merck's wide reach. Clover's Melbourne, Australia plant produces products such as Hi-DHA powders and oils, which contain DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), a long-chain omega-3 PUFA used as a food ingredient.
