CINCINNATI--Stolle Milk Biologics Inc. (SMBI) was granted three new patents in milk research technology, adding to the 250 patents it already owns. The first patent [#5,980,953] isolates an anti-inflammatory factor in milk; the second patent [#6,054,124] isolates micronutrients that may enhance the body's immune system and its ability to control allergies; the third patent [#6,056,978] uses technologies found in its hyperimmune milk to enhance immune function.
