CHANNAHON, Ill.
Safflorin, an isomerized safflower oil from Lipid Nutrition, was shown in a fourth double blind, placebo-controlled study to positively impact immune function parameters. Researchers from the University of Virginia gave 4 g/d of Safflorin to volunteers who were infected with a rhinovirus. There was an overall reduction of symptoms and reduced incidence of sore throat incidence in the treatment group. Lipid Nutrition presented the results at the 17th International Conference on AntiViral Research in Tucson, Ariz., in early May.
