Metagenics Releases Cognitive Health Product

SAN CLEMENTE, Calif.Metagenics Inc. released a new product, CogniSure®, designed to support healthy brain aging. The once-daily dietary supplement is the first in the U.S. market to feature Colostrinin, a colostrum-derived, protein-rich polypeptide (PRP) complex shown to support cognitive function in adults. The ingredient was exclusively licensed to Metagenics for distribution in North America, Australia and New Zealand by London-based ReGen Therapeutics.

A large body of cellular research demonstrates that Colostrinin may influence numerous activities associated with normal brain agingincluding those related to genetic expression, antioxidant mechanisms, and immune function," said Jeff Bland, Ph.D., chief science officer, Metagenics. In fact, laboratory research supported by ReGen Therapeutics has shown Colostrinin may serve as an antioxidant, help maintain beta-amyloid stability, protect DNA and possibly influence certain cytokine pathways that affect mechanisms of normal brain aging.
