LONDON, OntarioKGK Synergize(www.kgksynergize.com) achieved GLP (good laboratory practice) recognition fromthe Standards Council of Canada; KGKs laboratory facility and a toxicitystudy were audited by the council in August 2005. The certification includesseveral study types including mutagenicity, toxicity, pharmacokinetic andbiological.

While KGK Synergize has always followed the internationalOECD guidelines, having been audited and accredited by the Standards Council ofCanada ensures our customers that we have the proper practices in place toconduct pre-clinical studies to the highest standards, said Robert A.Guthrie, vice president of KGKs contract research service division. It isextremely important to conduct studies in accordance with GLP, especially if youare submitting to regulatory boards such as the U.S. Food and DrugAdministration (FDA) or Health Canada, or to obtain GRAS [generally recognizedas safe] status for food ingredients.
