Staying well and operational in India, Sabinsa and its President Worldwide Shaheen Majeed face challenges well-known to people around the world, including extended lockdown, being “essential” and working from home.

The streets in India are uncharacteristically empty. The country’s lockdown has been extended until at least May 3. However, dietary ingredient supplier Sabinsa is among the businesses deemed operational and has been chugging along despite the challenging environment.

Jon Benninger, VP of the Health & Nutrition Network for Informa Markets, caught up with Shaheen Majeed, president of Sabinsa Worldwide, somewhere in the dense internet video conferencing traffic to talk about staying well and thriving during COVID-19 quarantine. In this episode, Benninger and Majeed discuss the whirlwind travel, business and family challenges following the canceled Natural Products EXPO West show and the efforts to maintain a safe and productive work environment for Sabinsa staff keeping the essential health ingredients operation going.

Among the highlights are:

  • The importance of being “home” with family and working amid homeschooled children and other challenges.

  • Staying fully operational while protecting employees and ramping up production to meet soaring demand.

  • Facing a huge burden of partners’ relying on Sabinsa to keep business flowing into and out of India and other worldwide locations
