LifeTree, Gnosis, OmniActive, Others Establish Leadership Positions in Industry

LifeTree Manufacturing, Gnosis, OmniActive, Sabinsa, UNPA and TSI Group made significant achievements over the past few weeks, positioning themselves as leaders within the natural products industry.

LifeTree Manufacturing was named the 148th fastest-growing company in the United States and the 3rd fastest-growing company in Arizona, according to Inc.’s 2015 rankings of the country’s private companies. In three years, the Tempe-based private label nutraceutical and organic functional food manufacturer grew by nearly 2,700 percent and added 60 new jobs.

Gnosis also displayed leadership by playing a key role in the definition of a new USP standard requirement for Vitamin K2 as Menaquinone-7, which will be available in the first Official Compendia Monograph of Dietary Supplement for Vitamin K2 as menaquinone-7 (MK-7), published in USP 38-NF33 First Supplement. A team of Gnosis experts drafted a Vitamin K2 monograph proposal based on the specifications of Gnosis MK-7. Gnosis submitted the proposal to USP, which favorably acknowledged the application and began an exchange of information with Gnosis in order to adapt the draft monograph as a model for the most advanced quality standards of vitamin K2.

In addition, OmniActive Health Technologies’ Supa, India, facility successfully went through the FDA CFR110 cGMP audit, joining the company’s facilities in Oros, Pune, and Talwar, India. According to OmniActive, the company ensures all personnel are fully trained in several aspects of operational excellence and quality control standards, and its facilities are certified cGMP and ISO9005:22000. In addition, OmniActive’s ingredients are produced through effective, efficient and sustainable operations.

Sabinsa Corporation received a foreign site registration number for its Payson, Utah, finished product manufacturing facility from Health Canada’s Natural and Non Prescription Health Product Directorate (NNHPD). The manufacturing plant was recently assessed by NHPD for Natural Health Product’s GMP standards and quality system and was deemed as compliant for manufacturing health products. Foreign Sire Reference Number 5000311 allows Sabinsa to manufacture Natural Health Products for the Canadian market in the Utah facility. The Utah facility is also NSF certified.

The United Natural Products Alliance (UNPA) announced UNPA member Ethical Naturals Inc. (ENI), a supplier of standardized botanical materials to the dietary supplement and pharmaceutical industries, has been accepted into the Platinum Liability Insurance Program, offered by wholesale insurance broker RT Specialty, in collaboration with UNPA. The Platinum Program is the first generation of state-of-the-art, best practices-based liability insurance designed exclusively for the dietary supplement industry. It is available to companies based on four distinct best-practice principles: insurance risk management; dietary supplement industry organizational, regulatory, compliance and analytical standard operating procedures; external third-party certification(s); and oversight of social media and Internet operations.

And finally, TSI Group Ltd.’s PEAK ATP® (adenosine 5’-triphosphate disodium, or ATP) achieved self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized as safe) status for use in functional food bars and powders. The new accreditation compliments a comprehensive technical dossier that includes strong efficacy and safety data, as well as non-GMO, kosher and cGMP manufacturing accreditations.
