Martek DHA/ARA Oils Selectedfor Infant Formulas

COLUMBIA, Md.--Martek Biosciences announced that its docosahexaenoic acid(DHA) and arachidonic (ARA) acid oils were selected by Mead Johnson Nutritionals and by the Ross Products Division of Abbott Laboratories for inclusion in their U.S. infant formulas. In May 2001, the Food and Drug Administration completed review with no questions of Martek's (www.martekbio.com) self-affirmation Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) petition for the oils.
