InnovaTea®, containing 98 percent natural caffeine from the tea leaf Camellia sinensis and created by NutriScience, has received Non-GMO Project Verification (NGPV) from The Non-GMO Project. It can now bear the orange butterfly logo found on various products in the market, which confirms third party verification of GMO-free products/ingredients.

NutriScience Innovations, LLC, a global supplier of nutritional ingredients and functional raw materials, has a portfolio of other ingredients with NGPV status, so putting InnovaTea® through the verification process further demonstrated of its commitment to fulfilling consumer demand for high-quality, non-GMO ingredients. NutriScience now feels its tea can be positioned as an “extremely high purity natural caffeine ingredient” and as “an excellent alternative to synthetic caffeine,” as stated the company’s press release announcing its tea’s verification.

“With this new NGPV certification … we feel the growing segment of specialty food and beverages, and functional food brands will have a clear winning ingredient to consider adding to new formulations looking to have clean label,” Ryan Pallathra, director of business development at NutriScience said in the same press release.
