MORRISTOWN, N.J.—OmniActive Health Technologies will expand its Lutein For Every Age™ program with the launch of a consumer website that will officially debut at SupplySide West 2014 in Las Vegas.

LuteinForEveryAge.org is designed to educate consumers on ways to maintain eye health through lifestyle, diet and supplementation, with an emphasis on how lutein may contribute to the maintenance of healthy vision through a lifetime. The website features a variety of interactive features, including a quiz to determine if consumers’ eye health is at risk, recipes with foods for maintaining eye health, and tips for people of all ages to enjoy a lifetime of healthy eyes, skin and cognitive health.

“Science continues to build around the important role the macular carotenoids lutein, RR-zeaxanthin and RS (meso)-zeaxanthin play in health," said Lynda Doyle, vice president of global marketing, OmniActive. “Lutein For Every Age was created to raise awareness of the benefits of early and consistent lutein intake to help maintain proper eye, skin, cognitive and general health throughout a lifetime. The website is another integral part of our efforts to deliver Lutein For Every Age’s message to consumers, industry members, healthcare professionals and the scientific community."

OmniActive is also supporting research by James M. Stringham, Ph.D., research professor, University of Georgia, who will be speaking at SupplySide West in a session entitled “The Three Macular Carotenoids: Complementary Functions of Lutein, RR-Zeaxanthin and RS (meso)-zeaxanthin." The discussion will focus on the functional specificity of the three macular carotenoidslutein, RR-zeaxanthin and RS-zeaxanthin—to support visual performance, as well as the latest results of clinical research to support the role of macular carotenoids in eye and cognitive health. Stringham will also discuss the healthful effects of lutein, RR-zeaxanthin and RS-zeaxanthin across the lifespan to optimize development, health and visual/cognitive performance.
