The Shifting Omega-3 Paradigm: From Intake to Uptake

Date: Jul 28, 2023

The Omega-3 paradigm is changing from intake to uptake, from dosage to delivery, which will transform R&D, and product development strategies. Renowned cardiologist and Omega-3 scientist, Dr. Clemens von Schacky, will present recent evidence linking an improved Omega-3 Index to the impact on cardiovascular health. He will give potential explanations for recent mixed results in Omega-3 interventions, and provide suggestions for better design of Omega-3 supplementation studies. Then Adam Ismail, Executive Director of GOED, will present data detailing consumer motivations and perceptions. Finally, Dr. Joseph Moritz, Scientific Manager at BASF, a leading Omega-3 supplier, will summarize relevant learnings for dietary supplement formulators. Attendees will learn the importance of Omega-3 bioavailability and the implications for dietary supplement innovation.
