Svetol, a green coffee bean extract made by Naturex, was given a Natural Product Number (NPN) from Health Canada  for its benefits on weight management and cardiovascular health. The Natural Health Product Directorate (NHPD), a branch of Health Canada, has allowed Naturex to use two claims relating to weight management and cardiovascular health for its green coffee extract, allowing the use of Svetol in weight loss supplements.
The NHPD also developed a monograph about green coffee bean extract based on research from clinical studies using Svetol. The monograph confirms the high quality of green coffee extract and its effectiveness for weight management.
