Hyabest(J)Study Shows Efficacy in Joint Health

TOKYO—Q.P. Corp. released clinical data on its hyaluronic acid (HA) ingredient, Hyabest(J)™, which shows the ingredient is efficacious in addressing joint health. The eight-week intervention randomized patients with knee osteoarthritis to receive 200 mg/d, 100 mg/d or a placebo. WOMAC data showed a dose-related response in reduction of joint pain and stiffness. In addition, the impact was greater in the subgroup of subjects with moderate- to severe-osteoarthritis.

The company is preparing to publish the results in an upcoming issue of Journal of New Remedies and Clinics, and will be on site at Natural Products Expo West, Anaheim, Calif., from March 6 to 8 to discuss the results, as well as possible mechanisms of action.
