SAN JOSE, Calif.--Portola Packaging Inc. introducedthree new tamper-evident plastic closures for non-carbonated beverages. Thefirst, the Fusion cap, extends the shelf life of beverages by keeping vitamincomponents and drinks separate until the beverage is consumed. When one is readyto consume the beverage, a simple twist of the cap releases the vitamin into theliquid. The second closure is a resealable, snap-on screw cap with a pull-ring.The third, Smart Flow technology, incorporates a one-way drinking valve designedto make stand-up pouch beverages spill- and leak-proof. According to Portola (www.portpack.com),both the Fusion cap and snap-on screw cap are compatible with virtually anyplastic bottle design.
