A recent article in the San Diego Union-Tribune examined the growing trend of supermarkets surpassing restaurants when it comes to prepared or grab-and-go foods. For years, consumers turned to restaurants for quick meals to take home and serve; however, economic cutbacks have forced more Americans to scale back dining out.

Now, supermarkets nationwide are introducing their own private labels of prepared foods and quickly becoming the working mans superheroes.
