Calcium, Vitamin D May Treat PCO

NEW YORK--Researchers at Columbia University have found a method of treating polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCO) with calcium alone, vitamin D alone or the combination of calcium and vitamin D. This invention also may provide a method in treating infertility, irregular menses, acne and insulin resistance. This method is comprised of administering a combination of vitamin D or a derivative thereof and calcium or a derivative thereof in an amount effective to prevent the onset of polycystic ovarian syndrome.
