GREIFENSEE, SwitzerlandMettler Toledo created an extensive guide for salt determination in food to assist food industry operators with the global effort to control salt content in food items.
The guidebook discusses different methods of salt content determination, including Argentometric titration of salt, determination of salt content with ion selective electrodes and salt content determination based on density and ash content, along with corresponding optimal measurement solution. It also provided tips on enhancing these processes, along with an introduction to the history of the white gold," and a presentation of different salt types. The new guidebook is available for download at no charge.
