SupplySide R&D Insights Releases Documentary Film

PHOENIXVIRGO released a documentary film on the SupplySide R&D Insights website, underwritten by Indena. The 20-minute documentary is the first installment of the planned Global Experience Documentary Film series. Viewers go behind the scenes at Indena's farms around Verona, Italy, as well as inside the company's quality control labs and production facilities, which are operating in compliance with the highest of regulatory requirements, to illustrate how best practices in research and development can be integrated throughout the supply chain.

"As a key differentiator and strategic investment into VIRGO's SupplySide Insights premium content web sites, VIRGO's Jon Benninger, Heather Granato and Scott Donaldson journeyed to Milan, Italy, to document the R & D process that fuels Indena's success from the farm to the finished ingredient," said VIRGO's CEO John Siefert. "At a time when the global news organizations are focused on everything wrong with the dietary supplement industry, SupplySide R&D Insights is telling the story less heard through real world documentary film makingoutlining how the best companies are complying with federal regulations and delivering safe and sound ingredients that fuel a healthier world."

Benninger, vice president of VIRGO's Health & Nutrition Network, added: "It was an incredible experience to start at the farm with the people growing and harvesting the Ginkgo biloba, Echinacea and taxus plants, to then follow it through the labs, the R&D and innovation, the pilot scale and full scale processing, and to the point of being ready for use in a consumer product, be that a drug, a supplement or a cosmetic. We want to share that experience with our audience around the world."
