EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.UAS Laboratories announced the winners of its annual scholarship programs to students at South Dakota State University. This year, the biotechnology company awarded Kaylee Wegner a scholarship for the 2012-13 school year. Wegner is an incoming freshman in the Department of Dairy Science. Additionally, UAS gave Ph.D. student Wei Bai the Dr. S.K. Dash Scholarship in Food and Science Nutrition. Bai is conducting research in the probiotics field.

The company  also recognizes students at the high school levelawarding a scholarship for high-performing high school seniors through the Orissa Society of America, in addition to the India Association of Minnesota.

In July, UAS, which specializes in probiotics development and manufacture, announced it was tripling its current manufacturing capability.
