NEW YORKVIRGO announced the winners of its inaugural SupplySide Insights Awards today at the opening presentation for SupplySide MarketPlace, which runs through May 2 at the Jacob Javits Center here. The awards celebrate successful market launches driven by connected CPG supplier/formulator partnerships in beverage, omega-3 and cosmetics.
"Selecting the winning partnerships honored in our inaugural SupplySide Insights Awards program was a great challenge, as the finalists in all three categoriesbeverages, cosmetics and omega-3srepresented quite innovative and successful finished products that were born out of a desire to work synergistically in product development," said Heather Granato, vice president, content, VIRGO's SupplySide Health & Nutrition Network. "We spent a good deal of time looking at the breadth of the partnership, the science behind the ingredients and the consumer market response."
The Beverage Insights Winner is Tipton Mills' Probiotic Instant Coffee, developed with Ganeden Biotech
The Cosmetics Insights Winner is COTY's Beyoncé Pulse NYC fragrance, developed with Symrise
The Omega-3 Insights Winner is Swanson Health Products' OmegaActiv Super DPA Fish Oil, developed with Cyvex Nutrition/Omega Protein
"In recognizing an instant coffee that delivers beneficial probiotics, a celebrity-branded fragrance with a unique red velvet cupcake sensory component, and a dietary supplement incorporating a less known, but certainly essential, omega-3, our SupplySide content team congratulates the companies behind the product development. Next year's awards could very likely be focusing on products developed directly out of the buyer-seller connection that happens at SupplySide MarketPlace," Granato added.
