Millennials shifting supply practices

With the market shifting due to consumer demands, ingredient suppliers have to hop-to—or be left behind.

Leave it to the Millennials. They’ve obliterated newspapers, razors, soap bars, face-to-face interaction, and movie theaters.

They’re also making demands of businesses near and far through their thirst for transparency and traceability. Top Millennial concerns include:

  • Non-GMO and USDA Organic, which has finally trickled down to supplements from foods and beverages. Tricky to get them into supplements when you have multi-ingredient formulations.
  • Traceability and transparency, which is putting pressure on suppliers and brokers to take care of the adulteration problem, firest and foremost through quality lab testing.
  • Clean label, which is leading to all kinds of reformulations to get rid of  or at least clean up the “Other Ingredients” part of Supplements Facts panel.
