ATLANTA—Huber Engineered Materials, part of J.M. Huber Corp., acquired Modesto, Calif.-based West Coast Ingredients in early July.Terms of the deal were not released. According to Huber execs, the acquisition complements the company’s plan to enhance the offerings of its health and nutrition strategic business unit; it currently supplies a range of mineral and excipient products and operates a granulation business in California.
“Adding custom blending and fluid bed technology is a natural fit for Huber,” said Michael Carpenter, vice president and general manager of Huber’s Heath and Nutrition business unit (www.hubermaterials.com). “Our experience in minerals, processed ingredients and GMP processing will bring immediate value to existing customers and prospects alike.”
