U.K. Group Fights Kava Ban
LONDON
The National Association of Health Stores (NAHS) was granteda leave by the High Court for a judicial review to overturn the current ban onthe sale of kava products in the United Kingdom. The action was taken againstthe Secretary of State for Health and the National Assembly for Wales. NAHS,which has approximately 400 members, reported the government has overreacted tokavas potential health risks, which are disproportionate when compared tothose of alcohol, tobacco and even peanuts.
