WASHINGTONLa Placita Botanas Mexicanas Inc., a South El Monte, Calif., firm, is recalling Wheat Snacks with Chile, Potato Chips with Chile, and Corn Churritos with Chile because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Jan. 7.

The recall involves Doraditas con chile with UPC code 7-90274 00011-9"; Chinacos con chile with UPC code 7-90274 00121-5"; Chicharrines duranguenses con chile with UPC code 7-90274 00261-8"; Palitos tapatios con chile with UPC code 7-90274 00251-9"; and Anillos michoacanos con chile with UPC code 7-90274 00351-6".

The affected products were distributed to retail stores in Southern California and packaged in clear plastic bags with a label sticker containing the product name and UPC code. No production codes, best-by-date, or use-by-date are found on the products.
