Silliker Opens Food-Safety Lab in India

HOMEWOOD, Ill.Silliker announced the Jan. 1 opening of a new state-of-the-art nutritional chemistry and food safety laboratory in Mhape, Navi Mumbai, India, which will support the growing demand of clients in the region across a wide range of testing and technical services.

The new facility benefits from the combined experience of MicroChem teams and 42 years of Silliker experience in laboratory design and quality management. The 22,000-square-foot facility features dedicated state-of-the-art chemical, microbiology, instrumentation and sensory evaluation laboratories supported by a trained team of qualified technical personnel.

MicroChem and Silliker entered into a joint venture agreement in 2009, and this new state-of-the-art laboratory is an excellent example of the great collaboration and synergy developed between both teams. This new investment reflects our strategic ambition to expand our services to meet client demands locally and internationally while delivering the high-level quality service Silliker is recognized for worldwide, said Philippe Sans, CEO of Silliker Group Corporation.
