WASHINGTONPacific American Fish Co. Inc., based in Vernon, Calif., is recalling Shishamo Roe Capelin in five states because the product may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced.
The recall involves packages of Shishamo Roe Capelin containing five pieces of frozen fish distributed to retail stores in California, Kansas, Hawaii, Washington, New York and Texas via retail stores. The recall was prompted by FDA's Import Alert regarding the salt-cured, uneviscerated fish, larger than 5 inches in length.
