WASHINGTONBanner Mountain Sprouts is recalling various types of organic sprouts from retailers in California because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced June 26.

The recall involves Banner Mountain Sprouts 4-ounce zesty greens; 5-ounce sprout salad; 4-ounce clover; 2-pound clover; 4-ounce alfalfa/broccoli; 4-ounce alfalfa sprouts; and 1- and 2-pound alfalfa sprouts that were sold through retail stores and wholesalers in California. The products are packaged in 4- or 5-ounce clear, plastic, clamshell containers and 1- and 2-pound Ziplock bags with a sell by date from June 17, 2012 to July 6, 2012.
